Toulouse from Aristocats on my left foot. Done by Todd Johnson of Buzz n’ Bones tattoo in Everett, Wa.  Aristocats was always my favorite movie as a child and Toulouse was my favorite character. He reminds me to keep an air of creativity and playfulness in all situations; no matter where life takes me.

I got my first tattoo today at O’Tool’s Design in Illinois. Jesse was my artist and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I chose Darwin’s Tree of Life because I am astounded by the theory of evolution. It also stands as a reminder that the best scientific ideas break barriers and require one to question everything they know and take risks. Fuck yeah nerdy tattoos!

Tattoo #16: Playstation controller. This tattoo was done by my amazing tattooist in Tasmania, Australia. This picture was taken half an hour after the tattoo was completed, so there is a lot of swelling, blood, smudging, & shine (& shadowing from the camera, it’s not darker on one side, both are identical). I grew up with games, & 99% of my favourite games are on the Playstation (Wild Arms, Breath of Fire III, Star Ocean: Second Story, Final Fantasy VIII, etc). So I thought, what better way to show what I love? Some people are going to hate this tattoo, but it doesn’t interfere with my career, nor is it something I’ll regret. Gaming has always been part of my life & it always will be. This tattoo is part of who I am & I’m proud of the woman I’ve grown up to be. - jessicaandthedeathlyhallows
