I got these done on August 24th, 2012 by Michelle at Gypsy Tattoo Parlor in Pittsburgh. I’m pretty bad at taking pictures, so the photo quality isn’t great, but I absolutely adore the wooden stake and crossbow. I got them because I’ve been caught up in the story of the fictional town of Sunnydale, California since Buffy the Vampire Slayer premiered on tv when I was 8 years old. Most of my core ethical values evolved from ideas that this show presented to me at a young age.

this is my tree of life and it’s my very first tattoo! i love the idea of the circle of life, as well as ‘remembering your roots’ (hence the roots touching the branches). i also got this for my father’s love of religion and a few other very personal reasons. i love it so much, and would definitely do it again, even in spite of the pain. took about 3 1/2 hours. a huge thanks to my fantastic artist, Saraloni at Club Tattoo in Tempe, AZ. she is crazy talented and i will for sure be going back for more!
