Got my first tattoo done today at Dead Gods Tattoo in Tigard, Oregon. The artist was Joe Skramstad. He does seriously amazing work. I feel like it was fate that he ended up doing it. He somehow accidentally added me as a co-worker at Dead God’s on his Facebook page. I was like “huh?” But I had been looking to get a tattoo and didn’t really know where to start looking for an artist. I had a look at his work and it turned out that he was awesome! So, it was perfect! This tattoo represents my Irish and Scottish heritage which is something that I’ve been passionate about for a long time.

He freehanded the whole thing from reference photos and then I endured 3 hours of discomfort, as it was my first tattoo with many colors and across a large area. The swan is for my grandmother, the orchids for my mother.

Our family has undergone quite a few trials and tribulations in the last 8 years, and like cats, we always land on our feet. So we got cats to remind us that no matter what happens, we will always land on our feet.
