This is my second tattoo of many to come! The koi is known to be a sign of good luck and the pink in the flowers is for my mother surviving breast cancer. For my grandmother. She used a box of hair dye every 3 months to keep her hair as red as she could, and when we spread her ashes in the pacific, all I could think about was how happy she must be to finally be a mermaid. <3

Tank Girl! My first tattoo (of many more to come,) she took 8 1/2 hours. She was done by Shaun Loyer at Distinctive Body Art. We entered in a competition at a tattoo convention in Havasu, didn&#8217;t win but we came close! She’s my hero, my inspiration, and people tend to tell me that I look like her - wouldn&#8217;t want any other first tattoo. The idea for this tattoo just came to me one day and it really stuck with me. The storm symbolizes the tough things I&#8217;ve had to go through in my life but the umbrella, the sun, and the words &#8220;awake and unafraid&#8221; represent my ability to get through those rough times. When I was 15 I was hospitalized for depression and self-harm for about a month. Since then I&#8217;ve been up and down but I&#8217;ve made it and I&#8217;m just so proud of myself for that. The words come from one of my favorite songs by my favorite band; Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance. That songs hold so much meaning for me, especially this line and &#8216;I am not afraid to keep on living&#8217;. This tattoo means so much to me and I absolutely adore it. It was done by Autumn Burns at Tymeless Tattoo in Baldwinsville, New York. I couldn&#8217;t be happier with it.
