I got this done by Jessica Machado in Winter Springs, Florida. Ever since I was a child I’ve had anxiety issues that are still a party of my life 19 years later. I have learned to deal with my anxiety and not let it rule my life anymore. When I was a baby I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep unless I was holding my mothers thumb, and to this day I have to hold either my own thumb or my boyfriends to be able to fall asleep. It’s a comfort to me. I wanted to get something to symbolize my anxiety so I chose the key and I wanted it on my thumb for how I have to fall asleep. Also the design Jessica and I used came from a ring that is very special to me. My father lost his sister when he was 12 and she was buried with this ring, decades later my mother found an exact replica and gave it to me for Christmas. I wear it every day. This tattoo has so much significance to it and I love how tiny it is with so much meaning.
