This is my first tattoo that I got back in April from Dave at Tainted Skin in Crown Point, Indiana. He did it far more amazing than I could have ever imagined. This line comes from the band Greeley Estates song ‘Let The Evil Go East’. In the song he’s unsure about if God really exists and he wants to believe despite what others have told him, but he seems to be having trouble because he can’t physically see him so he asks for a sign to prove he’s actually up there. He then asks for help with his problems because he’s full of sin, there’s evil inside him and he wants to be a better man so he’s reaching out for God to help him so when God answers ‘Cover your eyes, forget what you see. Go west young man, let the evil go east’ (Which comes from Psalm 103:12- ‘As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.’ And that translates as far as the east is from the west - as far as possible; as far as we can imagine. So far hath he removed our transgressions from us - That is, he has put them entirely away. They are so removed that they cannot affect us any more. We are safe from all condemnation for our sins, as if they had not been committed at all.) Its just what he needs to know that God does indeed exist and know that he’s listening. For me the message behind my tattoo means a lot. I was brought up in a family who are very strong believers who would tell me their beliefs but it confused me. Don’t get me wrong I’ve always believed in God, but I’ve been unsure at times in my life because of different things happening out of anyones control just like others I’m sure, so I could relate to the meaning behind the song. Since I’ve gotten older and can understand better, there have been problems and obstacles I have overcome in life that I know its been God helping me out and listening to my prayers because there is just simply no other way. Getting this tattoo was not only a dedication to my favorite band and quote but also to remind myself that no matter what, through good or bad that God is always with me helping me out along my journey in life.
This is my William Blake inspired hour glass tattoo. This year I took a British Literature course in college and there was a large emphasis on William Blake. I fell in love with the complexity of his writing, especially what is presented in Auguries of Innocence. I knew that I wanted the quote and the hourglass, and this is what my artist came up with.
This is my third and largest tattoo. It took around 3.5 hours to complete (although I still need to return for some minor touch ups).

my father and i chose to get this as our matching tattoo for father’s day. it’s one of his favorite tv shows, and as a theme i have always gotten him something gir-related as gifts for holidays. done by Marco Aguero at Permanent Skin Art, Saint Paul, MN.
I’ve been wanting to get this tattoo done for a awhile, but didn’t tell anyone about it. Throughout middle school and high school I had really low self-esteem. I didn’t think I was smart, attractive, or important. I would stay with guys that weren’t nice to me and let them treat me like shit. Over the past year I feel like I have grown up so much, and this tattoo reminds me that I am worthy of love, respect, happiness, and so much more.
