Turn, turn, my wheel! All things must changeTo something new, to something strange;Nothing that is can pause or stay; The moon will wax, the moon will wane,The mist and cloud will turn to rain,The rain to mist and cloud again,To-morrow be to-day.-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

“Walk by faith, not by sight”  2 Corinthians 5:7
I got this done at Scarab Body Arts in Syracuse by Sean Morgan. A problem I have always had in my life is worrying. I’ve always been a nervous person. Sometimes I forget to have faith. Lately I have been worrying even more and it inspired me to get this tattoo. It helps to realize how simply having faith can change your entire being and attitude. Now I have no excuse to forget that I need faith.

When I was younger my best friend begged me to read “The Lovely Bones” because it was her favorite book, she gave me her copy and insisted that I would love it but I kept putting it off. A few months later she passed away and of course I searched for the book and read it for her almost immediately. Little did I know that the entire book was about death and letting go, which made me completely bawl the entire way through. I had always wanted to get a tattoo but never had enough reason to get something so permanent until this. I decided to get the tree that was mentioned in the book and emphasized in the movie that represented Heaven. The tree that I got looks a little different, but has the same theme of the leaves turning into birds. Her initials, MMM, are ‘carved’ in the tree trunk because I know that she made it to that tree and I know that she is in heaven.

I got this bad boy, on November 18, 2011. It took 2 and 1/2 hours it was a pain to get him done especially towards the top of my shoulder. I got him because i LOVE the black and white classic horror movies, and Frankenstein just happens to be my favorite. Done at Eternal Tattoo in Eastpointe, Michigan by Marshall Bennett.

This is my fourth tattoo.I got this in memory of being a child. I’m an English major with a focus in poetry, and my earliest and fondest memory of my childhood is reading Shel Silverstein’s books of children’s poems. His poems always made me laugh and sometimes made me think. Reading them today still makes me feel like I’m a kid.
The drawing is from the poem “My Guitar” in the book “A Light in the Attic”. Tattoo Artist: Nils Roseberry, Marion, IN.

my boyfriends beautiful tattoo done by Darrin White

This is my first tattoo. It is on my left forearm. It was done by Brian McAlister of Blind Faith Tattoo in Bangor, Maine. The microphone was originally done by Alex Pardee. The quote is originally Shakespeare, But it’s also in a Chiodos song. I felt that these went pretty good together. I love singing. Always have. However I have always been nervous and shy my whole life. This quote/lyric really helps me get over that. Make’s me think “why should I be nervous?” or “why should I be afraid?”. More importantly “Why should I give a fuck?” I love this tattoo. It looks sick and it has some pretty good meaning.
