My elvish LOTR tattoo. it is two lines from Aragorn&#8217;s poem that is recited in Return of The king&#8230; &#8220;Not all those who wander are lost. A light from the shadows shall spring&#8221;

This is my &#8220;dad tattoo&#8221;; he got a tattoo of a samurai when I was about 5 or 6, and while I didn&#8217;t understand what a tattoo was and kept asking him when it was going to wash off, I was really fascinated by it. I wanted to get something Japanese style for him and I think octopuses/octopi/octopodes/what have you are incredibly smart and fascinating creatures. Plus, they make attractive tattoo subjects.Done by Scott Ellis at Triple Crown Tattoo in Austin. I can heartily recommend him to anyone. my 3rd tattoo. i got a peacock because my best friend growing up lived on a farm and they had peacocks and whenever one would go missing i would ask her dad why he didn&#8217;t keep them in cages so that they wouldn&#8217;t run away and he always said the same thing &#8220;sweetheart, they are too beautiful to be kept in a cage.&#8221; this brings back so many memories and it is a reminder that we are all too beautiful to be caged. tattoo done at Mean Street Tattoo in Syracuse, New York.
