Just got this today at Chroma Tattoo in West Bloomfield, MI. I call it my “Escapist” tattoo because the idea was inspired by the song by Nightwish called Escapist. No matter where I am, whatever I am working on or doing, I always long for something bigger and better. I’ve always been a dreamer, and the song lyrics, by dealing with escaping reality into a fantasy paradise, were the perfect ingredients for a great first tattoo. Huge thanks to Jason James Benci, the artist who gave up his only day off this week, to make this masterpiece a part of me!

My friend and I got matching tattoos of this adorable cat which was done by the flawless Sylvia Plath. Plath has been my inspiration for such a long time, and I knew I wanted something tattoo related to her. Also, I love cats.
