Our family is from Upstate New York, but her mom, my aunt, moved out to Arizona when she got married. I recently came out to Tucson to get a taste of the west. The sunflower, represents New York, which is why mine is bigger because that’s where I grew up. On her arm, the cactus flower is larger for Arizona, where she grew up.

Photo taken 3 hours after completion. I got this done during my recent trip to Ireland by Michal at Skin City Tattoo in Dublin. The image is designed from a brooch that I inherited from my grandma after she died 2.5 years ago, so to me, this tattoo represents family, my heritage, and the beautiful design within itself.
