The meaning behind my hand tattoo is pretty simple. I am not very good or lucky with girls in relationships and quite offen cause them to cry or fuck it up in some way or another so I got a crying girl tattooed on my hand.
Getting it done was not that pain all in all. Some parts like the knuckles and the side of the hand were the worst parts I have had tattooed so far for pain, But generally it wasn’t so bad.
The artist is Charlotte at Alternative Arts in Northampton.

The peacock is a symbol of immortality because the ancients believed that the peacock had flesh that did not decay after death.
The peacock naturally replaces his feathers annually; as such, the peacock is also a symbol of renewal.

Had this little guy done by Ash Draycott at Bodycraft in Nottingham. He’s my absolute favourite tattoo, although definitely my most painful so far. Even though it hurt I cannot wait to get him finished!
One of me and my boyfriends favorite songs is “I Will Possess Your Heart” by Death Cab For Cutie. And we decided randomly to get matching tattoos and this is the one we got :)
So here is my submission. The whole reason for waves on my foot stems from a love of the ocean; I’ve lived in a coastal city my whole life and I got this tattoo in a studio in the harbour. It serves as a constant reminder to me that wherever I go in the world, I will always have one foot in the water/ in my hometown.
the death card, number thirteen in the tarot deck, rejects western conceptions of death & instead looks to it as a necessary component within the cycle of life, a symbol for transformation & rebirth. while there were specific motivations for originally getting this tattoo, in difficult times my ink has the ability to take on new meaning. there will always be turmoil, there will always be chaos. one must take hold of these experiences, however negative & detrimental - learn from them, grow from them. one must always be strong, for true identity is cultivated through the mountains we have conquered, the fears we have faced, & the battles we have won.
tattoo artist, stephanie tamez, of saved tattoo in brooklyn designed this for me two years ago come november. she is lovely & extraordinarily talented.
