got this done in honor of a poem my mother wrote my father before my mother died. i didn’t want to lose the poem, so i got it tattooed. it was done by Oscar Green at Rated R Tattoos in Decatur, IL.

Done in Angers (France) by David in François Tatouage This is my first (and not my last) tattoo. I’ve always been fascinated by eyes. I think it might be because of Sauron in Lord Of The Rings . I saw it when I was 10, and this big burning eye terrified me (I couldn’t sleep for 2 days !). And if that was’nt enough, I cured myself by watching the two others movies at once ! Anyway. I also think that eyes have a strong meaning in all the cultures, as windows of the human soul.

My Mucha arm, finally complete. Done by the amazing Stephanie Brown in Toon Town, TX (no current studio affiliation). The design is based on a Tori Amos poster that is based on Alphonse Mucha’s painting “The Moon.” I love just about all things art nuveau, especially Mucha’s flower-haired ladies and have been planning and dreaming of this sleeve for a long time. Stephanie is a good friend of mine, as well as a highly sought after artist in our community. I consider myself lucky to have made it under her gun.

So what I decided to do was get a bunch of my favorite things. Invisible Monsters is my favorite book. The Keywork is the Coheed and Cambria logo and they are my favorite band. The nintendo controller is for my favorite past time which is gaming. I absolutely love music so I got some music notes. Amor Fati, which I know isn’t the complete sentence, means love of one’s fate and is one of my favorite songs. Ferrer is my last name. I got all of this done by Jay at East Atlanta Tattoo. The man is phenomenal and one of the coolest people I’ve ever met.

My second tattoo, done by the amazing Tammy Kim at Adrenaline in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She did a fantastic job and it was exactly what I wanted. The past few months, I’ve been homeless, living in shelters, on the street, sometimes crashing with friends when possible, etc., and I haven’t had one stable “home”. But I learned to make every place a home by making the most of the situation and being happy no matter what. To me, “home is where the heart is” means that you can make any place your home, and that home is more a feeling than any specific place.
