This is my Bayside tattoo, I got it done in the summer of 2011 and touched up last summer. Both sessions were done at Ink Splat 13 in East Stroudsburg PA, and I have Kurtis Kresge to thank for how good it looks now. It’s a ton of solid black so it wasn’t easy to cover and he did a great job fixing the details which were a total blur before. If you think band tattoos are stupid, I feel sorry for you that you never really connected with a band! Bayside was my first concert ever 7 years ago, I love them and I always will.

My grandpa died two weeks ago. And the pain of feeling like you could have expressed your love more is haunting me now. “Kiddo” was his term of endearment for everyone. So that may not sound like a very special nickname, but when my mom informed me he had passed the first thing in my mind was him calling me that and the way he used to throw his head back when he’d laugh. I didn’t get it very big because my grandpa was a very humble man. He wouldn’t like the idea of anything dedicated to him let alone a huge piece. I got it for me though. So every time I see it on my wrist I can remind myself to be the best person I can be. Like he would have wanted me to to grow to be. He was what was good about people. The world is missing one of the most amazing human beings now, but heaven has gained a new bright bright angel. I love you Max. You were the family’s own Atticus Finch and you’ve left us a lot behind to follow.

Got this done last September at Eddie’s Tattoo in Philly. My artist’s name is Frank and he’s awesome.  This is on my right thigh area. I got it because Pirates of the Caribbean is my favorite movie ever and has been since I was 12 and saw it in theaters. It’s the type of movie I watch when I’m down or play in the background of whatever I’m doing because it’s comforting to me. The words on the tattoo are said by one of Davey Jones’ crew members in the second movie Dead Man’s Chest when Jack gets swallowed by the Kraken.
