This is my “dad tattoo”; he got a tattoo of a samurai when I was about 5 or 6, and while I didn’t understand what a tattoo was and kept asking him when it was going to wash off, I was really fascinated by it. I wanted to get something Japanese style for him and I think octopuses/octopi/octopodes/what have you are incredibly smart and fascinating creatures.
