Sic Itur Ad Astra, a line from Virgil’s Aeneid.
“thus you shall go to the stars” is its exact translation.
The way I see it, the phrase recognizes following a path and making decisions that you value and can stand behind, and at the end those decisions will be the ones guiding you to the stars or in a more sensible case they will guide you to success and to the end of life. Decisions are the only thing that reminds me that I am an individual and have thought and am human. To me life is kind of like an empty canvas or soap stone. I sometimes make little errors that will steer me away from the final project, but in reality I can’t possibly know how life HAS to turn out. So, that being said I must regret nothing because the good decisions and “mistakes” that I made along the way are the ones I will stand behind. They will take you and I to the end of life, and all I can do is pick left or right not right or wrong. It isn’t something “I live my life by”, it’s just a reminder that we must not regret and be caught up in remorse.. what a waste of time.
