This was my first tattoo I got when I was 17. I got it as a gift to myself, and my father just after my high school graduation.  If you don’t know anything about seahorses, it is the male that carries the eggs before they hatch. In a way my father did just that. He was my sole caregiver almost from day one, and I’m very thankful for what he has done. I remember when I was little he got two seahorses on his left shoulder to represent the two of us, and ever since I was fascinated with it. I was more than excited to get mine done, and though he never showed it, I think dad was too. <3
