This is my newest (and second tattoo), it’s on my upper right thigh, which is why the picture is cropped quite a bit.  Anyways, since I definitively decided to get it (in April), I’ve seen this piece of art a lot around, and honestly, I still love it as more as the day I picked it.  I see it as a symbol of my perception of myself as a free-spirited individual, and how everything that has happened to me has somehow shaped me, good or bad.
More importantly, I got this tattoo done at a time where I am truly happy and in a good place for the first time in so long, and I like having a reminder of that.  I’ll always have this piece of art on my skin, and it’ll always be a literal reminder of what a wonderful year 2011 was, and how lucky I am to have had it.
Done by Ellen at Chameleon Tattoo in Cambridge Massachusetts.  She’s literally one of the most wonderful, laid back, creative people I’ve ever met.  All I gave her was I wanted a feather and for it to be “whimsical” and she designed the rest.
