This was my first tattoo, done by the absolutely fucking incredible Thomas Hooper. It’s a mandala on my left shoulder. The mandala bears a mountain of significance to me, both for its spiritual importance and for its omnipresence in all cultures in one form or another. Coming from a multiracial/multicultural background, this beautiful piece helps remind me of who I am and why I am. I decided to get this tattoo shortly after burying my grandfather on my 18th birthday, one of many, many huge changes in my life recently.  I adore my new ink and I am so excited to have it on my body for the rest of my life and beyond. I already feel like it’s somehow magical. I will definitely be getting more tattoos, maybe even building this piece into a sleeve. 2 hours straight. Saved Tattoo. Brooklyn. Thanks for looking!
