This is my most recent tattoo and it was done by my tattoo artist friend, Alex Ward. I came to him one day and was all “Look, I need an Alex piece and I want something grotesque but classy at the same time”. He agreed to do whatever I decided I wanted, which happened to be a hand with maggots.
The original design was of a nicely manicured hand holding a handful of maggots. I enjoy this much more. It was completed in 8 hours (two sessions) and drawn completely free hand by Alex. The greatest part had to be that he was the one who did it from start to finish and he was even excited with the end result.
