Basically, it is my interpretation of the phrase “love is blind.” There are many different ideas as to what that actually means, and I would like to keep my own spin on it to myself, but it is a major part of who I am today.
I had been sitting on this tattoo idea for several years before biting the bullet and getting it done. Originally the piece was to consist of two 1-inch tall figures in black and white. Nothing extravagant. Luckily my artist, Matt from Blue Rose Tattoo in Huntsville AL, couldn’t recreate what I wanted, due to major pixelation of the original picture when he tried to enlarge it. He offered to draw something up sticking to the ideal of what I wanted, which was the most important part to me.
I was in love with what he showed me. The style and color was, and still is, way more than I would have hoped for and the price, which was another major factor in my tattoo escapade, was more than fair. I signed the necessary papers and started on the painful part that very day.
By the way, the sternum is no fun. I didn’t cry but I sure as hell wanted to.
Sadly I have yet to get it finished. Two years since we finished the first two sessions and finances have kept me from booking another appointment. Not that it would be terribly expensive, but when you are a mother working full time to support a family tattoos aren’t high on your priority list.
This is my favorite piece of art work I currently have on my body. If you do decide to push this submission through or even use it for other purposes, please give all credit to Matt @ Blue Rose Tattoo in HSV, AL. And if any of y’all are in the area go get some ink from the guys and gals at the Rose!
