This is my first and at present, only tattoo. It is situated on my left ankle and was done by Jorge Becerra of Love Hate Tattoo, Edinburgh. The word “nevermore” is rife with personal meaning to me, originally from Edgar Allan Poe’s wonderful poem “The Raven” it instantly became one of the most beautiful words i had ever heard from a young age. Poe quickly became my favourite poet after hearing “The Raven” for the first time. Throughout my life i have struggled with depression, suicidal thoughts and self harm but now, as a twenty year old woman facing the world through an unclouded lens for the first time i say “nevermore” to all the negativity and bad energy that has been in my life.
