This is my first and only tattoo. I got this tattoo done on August 28, 2010.. my father’s birthday. This tattoo is actually in dedication to my mother who has never abandoned me, given up on me or let me face the world alone. My father was never there.. so this tattoo is a reminder to me that my mother is the only person I need in this world. When I was very young, my mother dedicated the song “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders, to me. This is a line from the song “Even when you feel alone, you won’t be on your own”. The quote is placed in front of a sunflower because I have always admired sunflowers for their strength and beauty (you can’t just step on a sunflower as with most flowers).
