The one of the left is my first tattoo I ever got. It’s a leo sign which was drawn by a girl I follow on deviantart, with her permission. My sun sign is a Leo and I feel as though it says more about me than words could ever say. Plus the way she drew it, it’s completely unique and I’ve never seen a leo sign like that. It’s beautiful. The one of the right is a Mermaid, again drawn by another girl I follow on deviantart, with her permission. This Mermaid, to me, represents the side of me only certain people have seen. Mermaids generally represent seduction and this one does however you can tell she isn’t your average mermaid. She’s complete frontal nude with claws and the way she’s posed against the anchor it’s quite obvious what her intentions are. I knew I wanted a mermaid for my second tattoo and I went through thousands and thousands of pictures when I stumbled across this one. I fell in love, it tells the story I want it to. Both tat’s were done by AJ at Bravesoul in Gorham, ME. He is extremely nice and I will never go anywhere else. I heard about him through a friend and that’s where she had gotten all of hers done. AJ remembers everyone he works on and their stories they share, that’s why I enjoy going to him besides the amazing work he does. When I went in to get my leo sign it was my first tattoo and before then I had only been in there to get my belly button pierced. I was shaking and nervous and he asked me if I was going to be okay. Once he started I was dead silent and he stopped and looked at me and told me it was okay to talk. I laughed and made small talk and the pain wasn’t as bad as I thought it was. When he was finished he stopped and looked at my dad and says ‘I think we might have an addict on our hands, she didn’t flinch once.’ We all laughed. While he was starting the Mermaid I feel as though he was more excited about it than I was because it’s small and it’s on my hip. It took a while for him to work out all of the details and it was somewhat challenging because I had worn jeans and my pants actually cover almost half of the tat. However we stopped mid session because I was running on 4 hours of sleep hence why she isn’t colored. I plan to return back and finish the coloring. I’m absolutely in love with these and I can’t wait to get more!
