This is my Mucha inspired tattoo of my character Robin from the comic I am writing called “A Loser’s Guide.” Rob and this tattoo mean a lot to me. I have had many people question my subject matter for this with a “Why not get one of your prettier characters?” or “Why would you want a chubby guy tattooed on you for life?” But these statements just prove the point of my comic which is to not judge people by their appearances. So not only does this tattoo remind me of my love for art (Mucha especially) seeing how it is my own drawing, but it is also a constant reminder of my love for the unconventional and inspires me to look past people’s appearances.
My artist is Perry from Splash of Color Tattoo in Michigan, he is a phenomenal artist and is great with color work. This is my first tattoo and he made me feel at ease and was very easy to talk to. Not going to lie, it hurt quite a bit (I’m a bit of a baby) but it was totally worth it. Five hours down, only 2-3 left! I can’t wait to get the next session done so I can get it finished!
