I got this portrait of my sister, Brenda LeeAnn, whom had passed away 10 years ago this May from a car accident. I’ve been wanting to get it done for awhile and I’m so happy I searched around for the right artist. Getting this portrait done has brought me a sense of closure but also hope and strength. I had always been afraid of driving, ever since I young, and after she had passed, it en heightened the fear even more. I am now finally getting my license next month and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it. My sister and I had only started getting close right before she died. She was and still is the most beautiful girl and person  I’ve ever known, inside and out. Her spirit and smile alone could light up the entire room. I think the picture I chose and the detail my artist put into it shows that to a T, especially her trademark, her gorgeous red hair (her friends called her Big Red). It can be very bittersweet because at times it is hard to look at without tearing up but it’s such an amazing reminder that she is ALWAYS there with me…especially behind the wheel. :)
