This is my slowly healing, soon-to-be Yellow Submarine. I chose this tattoo because The Beatles, especially that album, have been very prevalent in my life. I watched this movie all the time when I was a child—around three years old—with my family, singing along to every song. My favorite was, of course, was “Yellow Submarine” because of the silliness of it. The entire movie today has reminded me to keep love, silliness, my family and music in my heart always. My family has always said that movie and the music will always remind them of me.
This is my first tattoo and it was a eighteenth birthday request. I got the tattoo at Freedom Machine Tattoo in Pflugerville by David Parker. David was an awesome guy; I had to get up to go vomit at one point and he was totally cool with it. It took two hours from start to finish. When I mentioned my worry over the orange body color he told me that it will fade to the dull yellow in the picture; however, if he had done it in the matching color the yellow would be gone in a month. I am very glad he did that. Great tattoo, great place and great artist. I’m on tumblr: www.guitarlowly.tumblr.com
