Art by the spectacular Silas Baker of Rock Steady Tattoo in Hampton, VA.
The snail represents the song “Snails” by the Format, and the “WHAT A LIFE!!” is something my friends and I say a lot to each other as kind of a catchphrase. It’s in my sister’s handwriting because I love her and she’s super cool and I’m gonna miss her buttloads when she moves away soon. Also, Vonnegut uses “What a life” a lot in the book I’m currently re-reading (Galapagos), plus he’s one of my favorite people ever. I’ve got three other pieces inspired by him, why not another?
Oh yeah, and his name is Herman (or Schlerman the Snail, if you’re my stupid/wonderful boyfriend).
