Geese support one another; they honk to encourage the lead goose (as being in the front of the V formation is the most difficult), switch positions to relieve the lead goose and if one goose gets sick, two geese will hang out with it until it gets better or dies.
Sometimes it’s good be the lead goose, sometimes it’s good to encourage the lead and it’s important to know when to do one or the other.
