This is my 4th and by far my most meaningful tattoo. The quote itself is a lyric from Jethro Tull’s Aqualung (circa 1971), the group being my father’s personal favorite. I grew up with an emotionally and physically abusive father who I no longer speak to. I truly believe the only good thing he has ever done for me is give me a good taste in music.
I am an atheist, while the album this title track is from dealt a lot with religion. For me, beside the above reason, this tattoo represents the hardships I’ve been through, the childhood I had, the struggles I continue to have and will have for a long time. It represents taking it all in stride. Dealing with everything one step at a time. Not always forgiving or forgetting, but, moving past the situations.
