I call this my Emma Goldman tattoo. On a trip across the country with friends from England, we stopped in Chicago and visited the grave of Emma. Independent of each other we had stashed acorns from the site in our pockets. When the idea of a tour tattoo came up we decided on an acorn. Acorns are a great metaphor and seemed perfect for a tattoo. We did not get our tattoos on the tour but I had this done a few month later by my friend Angel Sanders. Angel does awesome work and has since done a fir bough on my inner are and we plan to add some more foliage in the years to come! She does a lot of traveling but often works out of Flesh Tattoo Company in Fallston, Maryland and Black Thorn Gallery in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
