These two are done by the lovely Guen Douglas . She is currently working at Magnum Opus in Brighton, UK but will be back in at Salon Serpent in Amsterdam from september on.I have always loved african wildlife and the big cats in particular. I got the chance to work hands on with them a couple years back and wanted them to be a part of me forever. I got the cheetah over a year ago and it is a portait of a cheetah I used to work with named Cleo who sadly passed away. The banner says “Alles sal reg kom” which was the first Afrikaans words I learned and they mean “everything will be ok”. The lioness (I call het Nala, that’s also my nickname) was done a couple weeks back. She is not a specific lioness I worked with but I just love how powerful and beautiful they are. I guess everbody knows what Hakuna Matata means :’) I love the Lion King, Disney in general, very much as well.
