This was my first tattoo. I’ve gotten two others since but this one means the world to me. I got a blackbird because my mom’s and my favorite band is the Beatles. I remember when I saw Paul McCartney when I was 10, he explained that women were referred to as “birds”, so the song was about women in the civil rights movement. Simply beautiful.
