i got this tattoo on tuesday, july 31st, 2012 by the absolutely amazing Caleb (DUB) at FreakShow Tattoo in Fort Collins, CO! I am totally in love with it :) it hurt like a monkey but has been so worth it.

the story behind this tattoo is pretty straightforward. it’s a port side oar that can be used for sculling or sweep rowing, because i row port when i sweep and i adore sculling. i row for my college (colorado state university) and rowing has been my savior. whenever i’m having a bad day, i can go row and forget my troubles and feel better about myself, or i can call one of my team mates and talk to them. rowing has simply become a vice for me and i know i will never give it up. Now when i look down, i have that reminder that rowing is there for me.
