This is my Mulan tattoo done by Evan at Pretty In Ink in Bakersfield, CA. He did a massive re-vamp because the artist that did this tattoo previous to him had never done a chest piece and blew me out. He went to deep in the skin and as it healed, the skin separated from the line work and kinda dragged making the lines look not as crisp. He didn’t know how to do cherry blossoms and kinda did some that looked like starfish. He made her face look tweaky and ugly. I would submit a before picture, but I was so pissed at my crappy tattoo I deleted all the pictures of it. I love Mulan a lot. I always had a fascination with Asian culture and when Mulan came out, I wanted to be her. I had a Mulan night gown and I never took it off, went everywhere with it on. Now, I understand that she’s really important for little girls. She’s a real go-getter and very loyal, and in my opinion, really under-rated.
