The tattoo was done by Pablo Garcia of La Mano Zurda Tattoo in Madrid, Spain. http://www.lamanozurda.com/ Pablo became a friend of mine while I was working on a festival, MULAFEST in Madrid. I asked him to tattoo the concept I had, and this is what he came up with. The idea behind the tattoo was to place a California grizzly, the state animal from the flag, in an embrace with a Chinese dragon and a Japanese koi fish. This is because I am half Chinese and half Japanese, but was born and raised in California.
