My David Foster Wallace tribute, done by Tony at Barbers Electric Tattoo in Cincinnati, Ohio. This design is based off of the cover of his first novel, published as his English Lit thesis when he was 24. DFW died in 2008, after losing a lifelong battle with depression. While I consider myself a very happy person, I have a deep gratitude for the literature he published and for the obvious amount of care and compassion he wrote with. The man possessed a staggering amount of genius and I would implore anyone who hasn’t heard of him or read him to do yourself a favor and do so immediately. He literally gave his life to his work, and we are all indebted.
