easy kill.
I got this done at Stingray Body Art in Allston, MA, by Chris. He was amazing and super funny, and I’m definitely going back to get my next ones there as well.
This is my second tattoo and it’s located on my back, right in between my shoulder blades. The font was really just because I love it but the words themselves mean more than I could probably every explain, but I guess I’ll give it a shot.
There’s a song by Jimmy Eat World called “Kill.” Simply put, it’s about feeling like you’re not good enough; like you’re replaceable. Each verse has a little bit of a different personal meaning to me, but in the end, the idea of being an “easy kill” in somebody’s life really resonated with me because quite frankly, I’ve never felt like I have a best friend, and it’s always seemed so easy for other people to leave me in the dark when something better comes along.
I chose the placement because the term “easy kill,” when best explained, is the feeling of being stabbed in the back. I’m sure every once in a while I’ll forget it’s there and then one day I’ll look in the mirror and voila! Just like when a friend stabs you in the back, you might forgive them and get over it but one day, you’ll get reminded of it and you’ll get fed up. I needed this tattoo as a reminder than when someone “kills” me from their life, I might as well “kill” them from mine. It’s not worth trying to stay involved with someone who doesn’t want anything to do with you.

easy kill.
