Earlier this year I lost my father. It is by far the most difficult thing I’ve endured. Throughout my childhood and adolescence I observed him as he continuously sacrificed his time and health for the well being of my sister and I. He was a very dear friend and my biggest supporter. He constantly encouraged me as I would strive to become a comic book writer. He did this simply because it was my dream. For years I’ve collected comic books and fully immersed myself in the fantasy of it all. However, only in hindsight do I realize that there was a hero in front of me all along. I’d like to thank Weylin Traugott at Old Tyme tattoo in Augusta, Ga for helping me in never forgetting that notion. I remember him once saying that it was his dream to be a good father. On his deathbed I was able to tell him that he accomplished his life goal.
