This is a tattoo inspired by the band Boys Like Girls. “Get up and go, take a chance and be strong, or you could spend your whole life holding on”, are lyrics from their song “Go”. I wish really wish I had discovered this
song earlier in my personal struggles, cause there’s not a time where I listen to this song or play it on my guitar, and I feel saved every time. The song is all about hitting rock bottom and wanting to give up…but finding a little morsel of hope. That light at the end of the tunnel you want so bad; it’s so close yet so far. This song made me realize two choices “Take a chance and be strong, or you could spend your whole life holding on”, I could either get a grip and keep going, or I could be weak and sulk and give up and spend the rest of my life feeling that negativity. Now the first choice sounds a whole lot better doesn’t it?
The book wraps into the theme of “moving on” from my disorders and diseases as well. I wanted to incorporate the quote of “You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one” though the pages flipping. It means exactly what the quote is. I spend too much time in my head reminiscing in regrets, moments and people I wish I could have back, being stuck in my struggles I wish I could recover from and the only reason why I can’t is because all I do is I keep re-reading that same old page and chapter. I can’t look back, I gotta turn that page and start that new chapter cause life is waiting to begin.
The quill is just wraps everything up! It’s what’s use to write that next chapter of my life; it’s my tool that’ll complete the many pages of my life that are yet to come. I gotta keep writing, I gotta move on, gotta keep fighting…
