This is my first and only tattoo.  It’s an adinkra symbol that I changed a bit to fit my arm a little more fluidly
NYANSAPO “wisdom knot” symbol of wisdom, ingenuity, intelligence and patience
An especially revered symbol of the Akan, this symbol conveys the idea that “a wise person has the capacity to choose the best means to attain a goal. Being wise implies broad knowledge, learning and experience, and the ability to apply such faculties to practical ends.”
It seemed to fit who I was at that point, after being really sick for over a year and graduating from college, and then deciding to go back to school for art.
