This phoenix was my first tattoo and I love every aspect of it.
This means the world to me.  I got the tattoo on my left wrist because it’s where I used to cut myself.   It took a lot of strength and suffering to pull through my depression, its been three years going now and although I’m a lot better, it’s still an every day struggle for me.  The phoenix is the perfect symbol for what I wanted this tattoo to represent.  In mythology, when a phoenix dies it bursts into flames, and then it is born again from its own ashes.    I wanted that message, that cycle of rebirth, to be a reminder to pick myself up, and to start again, and keep beginning, not to give up or to stop.  It’s all about second chances, and when I look there I realize how much I almost gave up, and I am filled with a sense of courage and strength.
