I wrote my undergraduate thesis on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. I fell in love with the play, so I decided for my first tattoo I would keep some of Much Ado with me forever. The line is spoken by Beatrice in Act II, Scene i, lines 140-1. She talks about how she was born with strife and laughter and she’s chosen the course of laughter. The quotation seems to sum up myself rather well.
My thesis readers also seemed to enjoy the tattoo as well.
