My first, and currently only, tattoo. “There is always hope.” A phrase that helped me cope during the time when my mum was ill. In 2008 my mum was diagnosed with cancer, and for the first time I came across Banksy’s work of the girl letting go of the heart-shaped balloon, with the phrase “there is always hope” written close to it. The message really helped me to keep positive during the months before she died, and now the picture along with the writing is really quite poignant for me. I got this last year, a few months after turning 18. I will never ever regret this.
