My buffalo nickel tattoo done by Bili Vegas at Sacred Tattoo in NYC. It is a tribute to my grandfather who passed in February and was born in 1920. My grandfather and i had always been close, i was his only granddaughter and was named after him. He always made a point to emphasize the importance of savings and gave me countless amounts of collectible coins, including the buffalo nickel. I chose the buffalo nickel specifically because i had written a poem last year in his memory titled Dearest Buffalo Nickel, so they, in particular, are very meaningful. I try to embody his spirit, strength, and mentality everyday, this will serve as my reminder
