The first one was the girl: she represents the difficulties I have to focus on things, always willing to do multiple things at the same time… A girl version of me fighting herself, her inner demons being the tentacles. Then came the man (no pun intended); it’s the same kind of character really, just more mature, having realized that fighting doesn’t resolve everything… Sometimes, accepting what’s wrong just tames the beast.
All in all, we all have both characters in us: the one that fights, and the one that deals with compromises. And every time I doubt, I look at my calves, thinking “oh, gosh, they’re huge”, then “oh, yes, I got them tattooed for a reason”.
