‘Je ne regrette rien’ (I regret nothing) from the famous song by Edith Piaf.
I’m travelling New Zealand right now and got this done by Mark at Sacred Tattoo in Auckland. It is a motto I have always lived by, so consequently I wanted it in my own handwriting as it’s personal to me. It’s also to remind me of my Mum, who I haven’t always seen eye to eye with. We had a real rough few years as I progressed through my teens and I can honestly say I hated her during that time, and she probably felt the same. The final blow was a huge argument that prompted me to walk out and I moved in with my boyfriend. Since then, we’ve slowly rebuilt our relationship, and I can honestly say we’ve never been better. This reminds me of times driving round with her belting out this song in the car (although we barely knew any of the words) and being so so happy that we’re good again.
We are two complete opposites when it comes to our personalities and although we had some appalling times, I regret none of the words spoken as it has brought us so much closer and made us value our relationship more than ever <3
