I got the heart in September of 2008. The heart has multiple meanings. The first being that my mom has a heart on her neck with three smaller hearts surrounding it representing each of her three kids, my one brother also has a heart tattoo on his left wrist. It’s a connection between us as a family. Its placement on my left wrist is also a reminder of difficult times from my past that I overcame and became a better and stronger person because of. I just got the quote done yesterday. It’s a Henry David Thoreau quote. I chose it because it has always stuck with me since the first time I read it. I agree that the best things in life are crazy and chaotic and wild and free. It’s a reminder to myself to never settle for anything less than the best out there, that no one “owns” me and I am an independent, determined, and ever changing person.
