Being independent was something I never had to do. I grew up with him, and all I knew was us. I truly hit rock bottom and didn’t know who I was. I was hysterical, depressed, and just so incredibly lost without him. I needed to grow up and find myself. I needed to spread my wings, and fly.. the dove represents peace; it’s what I needed to find within myself at the time. The cage represents my comfort and it’s open, meaning I needed to get out and do more…learn more..appreciate more. Getting this done truly helped me in this process. Everyday I learn something new, and I can finally call myself a strong, independent woman.
