In memory of my uncle that passed away, four months ago today. Growing up he always had these candies and made everybody try them. My sister and I always called him Uncle Jungle Gym, because we would climb all over him.

Got Cyrus Bolooki’s cartoon from NFG’s Catalyst album for a few reasons. New Found Glory being one of my favorite bands, Catalyst being one of my favorite albums, and Cyrus being one of my favorite, very influential drummers for me. It also represents my love for drumming, computers, music recording and art. The artwork on that album is SICK.

The original piece came from a tapestry I have hung up in my room. It was given to me by a beloved friend who I consider to be my polar opposite. Our differences draw us together, balancing our lives with our energy. Getting this bonds me to him forever knowing we’ll always be apart of each other’s lives through thick and thin, no matter what.
My “Wild Thing” tattoo in homage to Maurice Sendak’s recent passing. As a librarian and lifelong lover of the book, Where the wild things are, it just made perfect sense to get my favorite wild thing on me forever! My whole arm is turning into a sleeve related to children’s literature or literature about children.
Done by the amazing Jean Chen at Diving Swallow tattoo in Oakland, CA. Jean has done some of my other tattoos and is always conscientious and precise. I highly recommend her!
Well I got 3 butterflies each symbolizing my mom, my dad and my sister. I got each butterfly according to their favorite color and favorite place the butterfly migrates to. The reason behind getting a butterfly is that they go through a physical metamorphosis but I used the literal text of metamorphosis. This metamorphosis shows how my family has morphed me into the person I am today. The end.
I got it at Body Electric tattoo in Melrose California http://www.bodyelectrictattoo.com
My very talented artist was Tono Tenorio check him out!
Bake or Die
I’ve been wanting to get my pink Kitchenaid tattooed for years. I’m a baker and I’ve been lucky enough to get paid to do something I love.
