This is a tattoo I got a few months ago and it really means a lot to me.  People keep saying it looks like a video game controller (I don’t know of any video game controllers that look like that), but it’s actually the butterfly vertebra of a fox.  That is, the first cervical vertebra of a fox, so it’s near the top of my back.  I got it mostly because I thought it looked amazing, but I’ve always been really shy and afraid to talk to people so this little backbone is my little reminder to “have a backbone” in social situations.  Along with other things.  It was done by Diane at Syncere Tattoo in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  And I couldn’t be happier with it!

Done by Sue Jeiven at East River Tattoo in Brooklyn, NY. So glad I did some research before getting this done- I wanted a piece done in the engraving/woodcut style, and surprisingly I found an entire shop dedicated to that kind of detailing. Really cannot wait to go back there, best overall experience I’ve ever had.
